The smart EV charging app we designed for Indra currently rates as the best on the market in the app stores. The app, alongside the extensive design transformation we’ve guided them through, has been an integral part of the company's rapid growth and recent acquisition.
Indra manufactures smart home chargers that enable EV users to charge their vehicles at times electricity is cheaper and greener. They are also pioneering groundbreaking technology to massively improve efficiency in energy systems with their bi-directional chargers.
Since we’ve started working with them, they’ve grown to ten times their original size. And there aren’t many areas of Indra we haven’t been involved in, including app design, platform design, brand refresh, brand design systems and website design.
Bridging the gap between product and marketing
We designed the Indra app from inception; conducting the very first user research sessions, taking the designs from wireframes, through prototyping, user testing, to delivery of final UI designs and design-system. This unrivalled understanding of the user needs and app features positioned us perfectly to transform these insights into creative concepts for the app launch assets.
Refreshing the Indra brand
With the launch of the customer app, Indra started to shift from a B2B brand to one that also needed to consider a B2C audience. With the logo already printed on thousands of chargers, updating it was off limits, so instead we focussed our energy on developing the brand look and feel with updated colours, typography and graphics. We developed an extensive brand system, designed to be easy to use and to rapidly bring consistency across the entire business.
Product teams
From 2022-2025 we’ve been integral to the implementation and development of Indra’s Award Winning Experience Team – a high performing team of amazing cross functional individuals. Together we designed and built all customer and partner touch points, including the customer facing app, installer app and back-end software, as well as the user interface for a new home charger.
